How Miranda can help
Civil litigation is a primary focus of Miranda’s practice. She represents individuals, property owners, and businesses in contract disputes, property and real estate disputes, business disputes, negligence claims, and other civil lawsuits. Her litigation work also includes personal injury, wrongful death, and medical malpractice. Based in Clayton, she serves clients throughout Southeast Oklahoma with attention to both the legal issues and the practical outcome each client needs.
When parties disagree about an agreement or whether its obligations have been met, Miranda can review the contract and circumstances and discuss options for resolving the dispute.
Disagreements over ownership, boundaries, transfers, or property rights can affect land, homes, and relationships. Miranda can review the records and represent clients in related civil disputes.
Business disagreements can involve owners, agreements, transactions, or other obligations. Miranda can help clarify the legal issues and pursue an appropriate resolution.
A negligence claim may arise when a failure to use reasonable care causes harm. Miranda can review the facts, available evidence, and losses to evaluate possible civil claims.
An injury can raise questions about responsibility, medical expenses, other losses, and available insurance. Miranda can evaluate the circumstances and discuss representation in a civil claim.
When a death may have resulted from another party’s conduct, a family may face difficult legal and practical questions. Miranda can discuss the circumstances and potential next steps.
Concerns about medical care can involve complex facts and records. Miranda can discuss what information is needed to evaluate a potential medical malpractice claim.
Civil litigation extends beyond injury claims. Miranda can discuss other disputes and lawsuits, including the evidence, deadlines, and legal issues that may determine whether representation is appropriate.
Some civil claims may be handled without an upfront attorney fee. Depending on the type of claim and the circumstances, Miranda may offer representation under a contingency-fee arrangement. In general, attorney fees under this arrangement are paid from a recovery rather than billed by the hour; not every claim qualifies. If Miranda determines during a paid initial consultation that she will offer contingency-fee representation, the $100 consultation fee will be refunded. This does not mean that all case costs are waived.
Each civil dispute depends on its facts, evidence, deadlines, and the parties involved. A consultation can help clarify the issues, available approaches, and whether the matter is a fit for representation.
